MEDAN, N SUMATERA – State oil and gas company Pertamina of North Sumatera chapter office conveyed Tuesday (Nov.23) to hold gradual kerosene subsidiary decrease.
Pertamina spokesman Rustam Aji said, the policy is enacted following 3-kg gas canister demand rise.
“We split the program into two steps. Firstly, Pertamina will limit the supply of kerosene around Medan city, Binjai municipality, Langkat regency, Deli Serdang regency and Serdang Bedagai regency,” Rustam told Waspada Online, made available in a press release.
He added, the secon step is held around Tebing Tinggi municipality, Tanjung Balai municipality, Pematang Siantar municipality, Asahan regency, Batubara regency, Labuhan Batu regency, Karo regency and the Simalungun regency.
“Started on January 1, regions included in the step one will no longer supplied with subsidized kerosene,” he said, adding that his side will reduce about 82.5 percent of the subsidiary support on November 2010, and will be enhanced to 90 percent in December 2010.
“However, the program may change depends on further situation,” he said.
