JAYAPURA, PAPUA - Security is being tightened in Papua's provincial capital of Jayapura for President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono's working visit to the province on Sunday (Nov.21).
Hundreds of police and military personnel staged a "show of force" led by Cendrawasih Military Commander Brig Gen Erfi Triassunu here on Saturday (Nov.20).
In his directives, Erfi Triassunu said that ensuring security for President Yudhoyono's visit to Papua was part of the Indonesian military (TNI)'s main responsibility, and therefore all TNI personnel should do their task properly.
President Yudhoyono is scheduled to arrive in Jayapura on Sunday afternoon (Nov 21) for a series of activities, among others, to open the National Student Executive Board (BEM) meeting at the Cendrawasih University campus in Jayapura.
Therefore, Papua's provincial administration was ready to welcome President Yudhoyono on arrival in Jayapura on Sunday.
Besides, the head of state will also attend a meeting of Strengthening Capacity of Local Finances at the Papua governor's office on Sunday evening.
On the occasion, a joint Integrity Certificate with provincial legislative assembly (DPRD), district heads and mayors as well as regional officials will be signed.
President Yudhoyono was scheduled to arrive at Sentani Airport on Sunday by presidential aircraft in the accompany of top officials of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Home Affairs Ministry, Finance Ministry and Procurement Policies Agency.
