Indonesia, China Gain US$33.7 Bn Trade Volume

Indonesia and China marked down a significant growth in the economic, trade, investment and tourism sectors. "Up until November 2010, it has reached a volume of US$33.7 billion compared to 2009 at US$28 billion," said Indonesian Ambassador to China, Imron Cotan. 

According to Imron, the partnership set up by every Indonesian stakeholder in China is expected to help realize the targeted bilateral trade volume of US$50 billion in 2014.
Indonesia also looks ahead to the rise in either investment or tourism about threefold by 2014. "Chinese tourists who will visit Indonesia are expected to reach 700,000 by 2010," said Imron during a Trade, Tourim and Investment (TTI) forum in Shenzhen, China, on Dec 8-9. 400 entrepreneurs from Indonesia and China participated in the event.
Meanwhile, Industry Deputy Minister Alex SW Retraubun stated in his speech that the forum was highly important in a pursuit to improving on-going partnership between the two countries.
Alex said Indonesia is a promising market for investment following the BRIC (Brazil, Rusia, India, China) countries.
