Balikpapan, E Kalimantan - Nearing the end of 2010 and the one million new power lines, state electricity company PT PLN in East Kalimantan still have 107,539 prospective future subscribers on the waiting list.
Requests for power lines are still on the waiting list at PLN offices across East Kalimantan, Max Tahapary, PLN spokesman for Balikpapan said last Saturday.
Two of the biggest requests came from two main cities, Samarinda and Balikpapan.
"Samarinda has 50,000 people on the waiting list, Balikpapan 43,436," he said.
He said not all the requests had been met, because some were house developers which have even not yet built their projects, and PLN planned to meet all the requests next year.
Meeting the requests is based on priority, like building the power networks.
