MEDAN - Medan's traditional market vendors unity (P3TM) protests sluggish restoration of traditional market Pasar Sukaramai by city government following a Sunday inferno. The condition is reportedly turned worse since the temporary kiosks installment for local merchants not yet finished.
"It seems that Medan city administration office, including Transportation agency and the city owned market operator company PD Pasar neglect the recovery program," Mardi Chan, a head of P3TMI for Pasar Sukaramai unit told Waspada Online here on Tuesday (Dec.21).
City government, earlier, vowed to build 431 kiosks around the traditional market area, but still installed around 200 kiosks.
Lawmaker in Medan's Legislative Council Ferdinan Tobing knocked Medan city market operator company PD Pasar head, Mustafa Sutan Nasution, due to ineffective effort to monitor traditional market Pasar Sukaramai restoration.
According to him, Mustafa fails to reconstruct razed traditional market building following an inferno incident.
"Mustafa has not yet learnt problems that sluggish the restoration programs in Sukaramai," he told Waspada Online here on Monday (Dec.20).
He is certain disappointed PD Pasar performance in the restoration project also slow temporary kiosks for Sukaramai vendors.
On the occasion, Ferdinan also alerted Medan city government to intervene the issue. "PD Pasar may call all people, so the problems can be fixed," said he.
