JAKARTA - Karen Agustiawan, president director of state oil company PT Pertamina, is to meet the State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Minister regarding reports on her resignation, the Minister said.
"Karen phoned me and she was shocked to hear such news. She wished to see me," Mustafa Abubakar said here Friday.
However, Mustafa could not confirm the place and time of the meeting. He said he didn’t know the subject of the discussion in the meeting and confirmed that Karen would explain what the report was all about.
Earlier Mustafa said the current position of president director of Pertamina is still held by Karen, while a reshuffle was only fill a vacancy.
"A reshuffle may be conducted, but on the president director. So, I confirm that there has been no change in the position of the current president director. Karen will not be replaced," he said several days ago at his office.
Mustafa, who was one of the shareholders in Pertamina, said a fit and proper test was being conducted on some names for the vacancy of the upstream director held by Bagus Setiarja. A similar clarification was also given by Coordinating Minister of Economic Affairs Hatta Rajasa.
"It’s just a rumor. Nobody wants to replace the current president director" said the Minister.
