Lamborghini
Gallardo LP 560-4 name provides clues: LP stands for “Longitudinale
Posteriore,” the engine orientation, and 570 refers to maximum
horsepower output. The Spyder suffix refers to the open top, and the
Performante suffix points to the mind-blowing performance, at a
3.9-second 0-62 mph dash and a top speed of 201 mph. Other popular
variants are the bi-colored Gallardo exhibited at the recent Detroit
Auto Show and the LP 570-4 Spyder Superleggera (super lightweight)
version due at the forthcoming Paris Auto Show.
The base Gallardo will receive a revised and upscale interior, reworked
front suspension, carbon ceramic brakes, and a new aerodynamics
package. The drop-top LP 570-4 Spyder Performante is due for a
performance touch-up, and the all-new 2012 Gallardo LP 570-4 Spyder
Superleggera (super lightweight) receives some aesthetic touches –
revised rear spoiler and front fascia – as well as some interior
revisions, giving it a total weight of less than 3,000 pounds.
