Presidential spokesman Julian Aldrin Pasha said Wednesday President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono had not yet decided whether he could attend the G20 Summit in Seoul, South Korea and the APEC Summit in Yokohama, Japan.
Julian told reporters after the opening of the Indo Defense Expo at Jakarta Fair Ground in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, that it would be decided on later tonight or tomorrow at the latest.
"If the President decides not to come, Vice President Boediono is ready to replace him and will fly to South Korea and Japan," he said.
"If he decides to go, he will depart at 3 a.m. tomorrow morning."
Julian earlier said the decision would depend on the latest situation on the Mount Merapi eruptions, which have killed 191 people and displaced 340,000 others.
He said the President continued to monitor the development of the situation.
