MEDAN, NORTH SUMATERA - Disbelief opinion that new airport for North Sumatera province at Kuala Namu, Deli Serdang regency, will be operated in 2012, repeated by Legislative Assembly.
Commission D Lawmaker Tunggul Siagian doubt the successor of Polonia airport in Medan city, regarding to progress report saying that contractor just finished six percent of land acquisition for the project.
"Regardless airport project's deadline is pledged in 2012 or 2013, it seems impossible to see it being operated immediately. We should be honest to the people, instead giving unreachable promise," said Tunggul as quoted by Waspada Online here on Tuesday (Dec.21).
In his opinion, lagged budget support provision not linked with slow project conduct, but miscoordination between government and the contractor.
"Legislative Council will be totally to monitor the project, in early 2011," he vowed.
So far, the new airport project just finished physical building, such as terminal and cargo storehouse. However, the runway construction has yet accomplished.
